About the event

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership acknowledging that we’re in this life together; our futures intertwined. Farmers bring seed and sweat, collaborate with soil and sun ultimately providing food to members who bring early-season monetary resources when they are most needed. Then, weekly, we share the harvest: the first and the best with our members, and together celebrate this farm’s bounty and its wonderful community.

This season, De La Mesa Farms is offering a uniquely curated CSA subscription by professional chef, Melly Savell, who has worked in award-winning kitchens in Austin, Texas. Chef Melly is bringing her palette and creative skills to a new farm-to-table CSA concept that will feature the best of our regeneratively-grown heirloom vegetables, including a new line of cultivated mushrooms, together with curated value-added products including masa, tortillas, tamales, salsas, ferments, pestos, soups and much much more. In each delivery, you can expect fresh salad greens, microgreens, and other seasonal produce, together with thoughtful value-added farm products and recipe ideas to make 3-4 amazing meals during the week for 2 people. The value of each delivery is approx. $100.

Our Chef CSA Box will be available for 6 weeks through from mid-March through April. Distributions will only be available on the farm and at our farmer's market locations.

A little about Chef Melly. This wonderful human being joined out farm family earlier this year when she took a leap of faith to step out of professional kitchens and reconnect with food through farming. She's been geting her hands dirty in the soil while working on innovative dishes in the kitchen and to bring De La Mesa Farm's dreams of tortillas, salsa, and value-added farm products to life. Melly honed her chef skills working at award-winning restaurants in Austin, Texas, including Launderette and Summerhouse on Music Lane, and under the tutelage of Top Chef contestants such as Sasha Grumman. Chef Melly also grew up in the kitchen of her family's restaurant in Arkansas, so she is no stranger to bringing heart and soul to her cooking. This specialty CSA will be the perfect opportunity to taste her unique farm-inspired creations.
